Because the route goes over the restricted and private MOD land at Bovington Tank Training Area we cannot yet publish a route map without further permissions from the MOD, and LandMarc who manage the land. We will keep you posted.
The Races start from the Sports Field near to the Tank Museum (why not visit that while you're in the area?) and you have a small amount of tarmac running before heading into the Tank Training area.
There are many twists and turns, The FUBAR marathon visits the south area & cranes moor.
Then crosses the road , turn left into the trees and climbs .
It crosses the road again into the “The Danger Zone” (you can sing the Top Gun song here if you like..) and follows the paths through Millicents Plantation, to the furthest away part of the course and winds it's way past old tanks, the helicopter landing zone and through the tank training area .....and maybe some proper mud and the 'Knife Edge'
There are 3 fords to clean your shoes off before the finish back at the Sports Field.
The SNAFU half follows the same route as the full until about 9km then loops back to the helicopter landing zone and a smaller knife edge to go over if you choose.
We recommend trail shoes....
